The Scene:
The stories these walls could tell if they could talk! Fortunately, ahem, Winners' walls are silent, although the music emanating from this classic converted road-cum-boat-house on the Mohawk River is anything but. Saratoga Winners was once the Capital Region's pre-eminent venue for metal, hardcore, and other such related musical rudeness, regularly packing 'em in for the likes of Gwar, Type O Negative, Pro-Pain, and John "Dr. Dirty" Valby. After an interlude when the club's name changed and the room rolled with country music only, Saratoga Winners is now back doing what it does best a couple of nights each week: blowing your skull apart. Other facility accommodations are Spartan at Saratoga Winners, yes, but who needs fancy when the music's making your guts wobble and your chest hurt anyway? Note well: You must call ahead to find out whether you're gonna get country or metal before you go!
Must Have Drinks:
Dewar's, Jack Daniels and Coke. --J. Eric Smith
