I have been going to Sutter's for about two years and I really enjoy going. The bar tenders are always good. The food is just what you want for a night out with your friends. I enjoy going out on the deck during the nice weather. I am reading threw the reviews and the one said it best. This is a small, hometown bar that you go to later at night to hang out in a relax. It's not a 5 star wine and dine joint. My only complaint about the place is the yucky smell from the rest room.

Wow! What A Variety of Burgers. I have been going to Sutter's for a few years, but recently moved to Clifton Park. I was meeting some co workers for happy hour, and we decided on Sutter's. Everyone got a different type of burger, I had the ELK Burger, cooked perfectly, One had the Ostrich burger the other, a Turkey burger. Our boss had to go with the original Steer Burger, which was a perfect medium rare, the way she likes it.

I do not know who the other reviews are written by, but I found the service friendly, the bathrooms look newly renovated and the prices were in line with everyother independent I frequent. A great time.

wow much improvement. A co-worker and I went to Sutters on our lunch break the other day and were pleasantly suprised. I hadnt been there in a long time because of it going so downhill. We were greeted with a smile. Our food was delicious and service was quick. The place seemed much cleaner than I remember it being. I would gladly go back and recommend it to anyone.

EXCELLENT PLACE OR FOR UNDER AGE DRINKING. A UNDISCRIBABLE BLACK STAFF MEMBER DRUNKEN OFF HIS MIND WAS JUSTIFIED BY BEING AN OBNOXIOUS COMSUMER BY A BARTENDER BECAUSE HE WORKED THERE.. NO EXCUSES, THE PLACE IS RUN BY A BELOW ANY CLASS BUNCH OF LOCAL IDIOTS TO SAY THE LEAST... THE BATHROOM SMELLS OF YEARS OFDEFICATION AND THE OWNER DOESN'T GIVE A DAMN !! AND THE MAYOR LIKES THE PLACE , WHAT MORE IS THERE TO SAY, IT'S A BREEDING GROUND OF UNDER AGE DRINKING CONDONED BY THE MAYOR OF ALBANY.... WHAT A SHAME ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE STATE UNIVERSITY!!!!! NEW YORK STATE HEALTH I NSECTIONS SHOULD BE ASSHAMED BY THE STANDARDS OF THIS ESTABISHLEMENT TO SAY THE LEAST... IT'S A DUMP TO THE THE DUMBIST OF PATRIONS !! NOT for special occasions!. LOL reading these reviews. What people reading the reviews fail to understand, is that Sutter's is where you go at 3AM after many, many beers. A greasy cheddar-mushroom burger gets an entirely different rating when you're in that state of mind. Of course I graduated 20 years ago, but it was the same back then.

A Huge Let Down.... Ok, well I was sitting here trying to decide where to go for dinner tonight. And I thought I wanted one of my old time favorites. A Sutters Burger! But then I remembered, I was there in the summer, on the deck, and was very shocked when our order came, and the entire 45.00 bill was a total let down. I mean what has happened to this place? My burger was so dried out, I could barely bite into it, and the wings where soggy, not crisp at all. Along with potato skins, and they were hosting some event for the state workers, the staff, well they to were very rude, not helpful at all. Please bring back the old Sutters!! What happened to the old cooks, and the staff that cared?? Is it just to much to ask for an old memory?

DISGUSTING. i would use extreme caution when preparing oneself to dine at this type of restaurant. they have ill-mannered staff, as well as the owner(who walks around cursing at his staff all day long while drinking beer and liquor from his bar apparently), and the deck itself is unsafe for patrons as the furniture looks to be as it sat outside through all four seasons - for two years. and they haven't won any award since 2003 - shouldn't that be another hint? and take a look at their deep fryers and the baskets they use - i wouldn't eat their wings if you don't want to catch some sort of bacterial infection from ingesting the food. and i wouldn't recommend bringing any child to this establishment either, seeing as you can hear the male bartenders chant profane language all the way on the outside patio. if i could have chosen NO STARS, i would have. this place is horrible.

Great Food. Leave it to the local college kids to find best value for your dollar. It's the kind of place were the softball team meets after a game. You seat your self in the large bar area and arrange the tables the way you want. The burgers are huge and they have a side bar with pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. Tunes are always great and atmosphere is very relaxed. They have a large deck out back. Best bar food in Albany!!

cockaroach castle. city search is a lousy site you have derelicts reviewing resaurants who wouldnt know good food if there lifes depended on it remember this is albany not new york city jacks oyster house rules

Great place after work. Mandy, the day bartender is a sweatheart! She always has a smile on her face and a nice icy cold beer waiting for you. Parking is tight behind the building but there is plenty in the 2nd lot or the key bank lot.
