Great Ambiance and Food. I love the french feel of this restaurant. All seats are comfortable, whether you are outside in the fresh air in nice weather or inside. The dinners are authentic and the bar serves great appetizers, I highly recommend the cheese board with pate'. The bartender during the week is super friendly. Really like it there! Give it a try.

Great for your Date. Provence is easily among the top restaurants in Albany. The cuisine is consistently good and their specials are always great.

As an earlier post mentioned, it can get a little noisy. I guess that is the price you pay for having a full house on a Friday or Saturday night. It has never been an issue, then again, I don't like to eat in churches either... ;o)

My wife and I have a date night here several times a year. So, I think I can comfortably recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a higher end meal than you receive in a cookie cutter franchise.

The crowds come here for specialty seafood with French flavors.. The Scene
The ornate doorway distinguishes Provence from its competition in Stuyvesant Plaza, the strip mall that boasts the Albany area's highest concentration of restaurants. Inside, the decor is handsome but somewhat diminished by cramped seating and a high noise level. The food, however, is outstanding, and worth exploring on a crowd-free night.

The Food
Bouillabaisse may incite passionate partisanship, but it would be difficult to dislike the food here. Clams, shrimp, and mussels are specialties. Most of the entrees bear the flavors of Proven?al seasoning, and combine the best of French and Italian cooking.

Dish to Die For
Try the outstanding monkfish in saffron-seasoned broth served with a garlic rouille-dabbed crouton.

Excellent food. We had Mother's Day brunch here last year. Food was awesome, so was the service.
