Disgusting Capitaland! I have been using Capitaland consistently for 3 months to get to work because I just moved to NY and do not yet have a driver's licence. I was apalled at the way I (a professional) was treated by the dispatcher on duty ( 11/06/09 at 6:15 pm). I called and said I needed a taxi, giving my address and where I wanted to go. He shouted asking for an apartment #. Before I could tell the time I wanted the taxi he slammed the phone down. The same thing happened at least 5 times. Only when I complained to another branch (which by the way told ME to be nice) did he try to get the time. I am appalled. I have a week before my driving test. I have called Checker Cab. Capitaland your dispatcher is out of line!
- Pros: None.
- Cons: Rude dispatcher; greedy for passengers; cabs smell
Capitaland will always get my praise!!!!

As I have to travel between Rochester and Albany frequently, I depend on Capitaland Taxi to get me from Amtrak to the hotel and back from the office to Amtrak. I arrived in Albany on Monday evening and was faced with a problem. I could not get the money that I needed out of the Atm and had no cash on hand. I approaced the booth in the train station to have them use my card to charge the cost for transportation but they were having problems with their machine. I was willing to wait as long as necessary to ensure that I had a ride to the hotel, which was not in the immediate area. The person, Mickey said to another driver to take me out and put me in a cab. He would follow shortly. When he arrived outside, he gave the driver the instructions to take me to the hotel and NO CHARGE!!!! Was he human?? What a gesture of human compassion. I was so taken back that I requested that the office send a letter of thanks to him. Also, the driver Tom, was as pleasant as ever as they usually are. I enjoy the service and will always use them when in Albany. A little bit of courtesy goes a long way. I know I appreciate it..Thank you, Capitaland !!!
- Pros: First rate service, friendly, timely, polite
- Cons: Not enough of them around
the only game in town if you're in a WC!

As a wheelchair user, I know despite the law. I have to call a few days in advance to schedule a taxi trip from Amtrak to the hotel. This inevitably requires several long distance calls including one or two from the train to confirm we're on scheduler or how late the train is running.
The problem is that you have to call the rail & then usually the airport and sometimes get bounced to the office who says oh if its rolling over, they miust be out of the office, call again. This is very disconcerting when all you want to do is get on the train and on your way home!
When they screw up and have a regular cab waiting it takes forever to get it to the train or hotel. How about getting a few more accessible taxis!
- Pros: they do have accessible taxis
- Cons: but too few
