Albany >Stiletto Salon
Hey Katelynn. You have issues! I was
Chris' 1st customer she has done my hair since she was in school. I suggest you find a Hair 3000 or Haircuts R Us because you don't deserve to be in a good salon ... by Katelynn
I'm really puzzled by Katelynn's comments below. I have been a client of Stiletto Salon for almost 6 years now and have NEVER had any problems. I am a client of Chris and my husband is a client of Erin and we love them both. The sinks are NOT broken, nor have they ever been when I was in the salon. The salon IS always clean and the staff IS friendly, they always are, Chris would not tolerate anything less. My experiences have always been positive and most of the staff know us both by name, they even know my puppy's name and ask how she is doing. Both my husband and I were there this morning for appointments and everything was functioning just fine including the sinks. I find it difficult to understand why someone would tell such bold face lies about a salon and person that is kind and always willing to help a worthy cause. I can remember when Stiletto was offering free haircuts to people who were unfortunately unemployed when the economy first started to lag - oh my how terrible is that? NOT! I know they have done cancer walks and fundraisers for local charities, I know this because I have donated. The only reason I can think of for such a nasty review would be that Katelynn has some other axe to grind. What happened, did she bounce a check and now she is mad because Stiletto wants payment? Did she miss an appointment and not cancel in time and was charged (a practice most good salons have anymore and hardly a surprise)? I can only guess but really such childish behavior should be left on the playground. If Katelynn has a legitimate beef, she should be an adult and take it up with the owner of the salon Chris and not stoop to such foul and classless behavior as spewing lies all over the internet.
I am very shocked to hear of your experience below Katelynn. We do not have broken sinks here, and we ask all of our guests to change into color robes before having a color service. If in fact this review is true I would love to have the chance to remedy this. I do not nor permit myself or any of my stylists to be rude to any of the guests we treat just like guests in our own homes.
This place is a joke. The entire place is disgusting. Even one of their sinks is broken. It's like a salon on Tabatha's Salon Takeover, all run down, dirty and grimey. The stylists have perverse conversations directly in front of the clients. I tried to change the subject several times only to be ignored. I had a color service that lasted most of the day. The stylist got color on my white shirt and ignored it. When I questioned her she said, "Maybe it will come out in the wash." It didn't. Any reputable salon would have owned the mistake and offered some kind of compensation. I left with green hair and it was fried. The girls they hire have only basic training and it's questionable if they even passed at that. The girls are not kind or welcoming and the owner is extremely rude. I will never ever go back and I will make sure to tell everyone I know and meet about my terrible experience. If you are questioning whether or not to go here I say to ask yourself one question, "Do you want a sub par service for above average prices with a long list of rules attached?" My suggestion would be to go to one of the 100's of better salons in the area. Hell, a SCHOOL would treat you better than this salon.
Love the place. Great Salon. Run like a top notch business. friendly staff, exceptional value and no nonsense business approach. Chris offers the most up to date products and services in the industry. I suggest you give this salon a try. You will not be sorry.
Love Stiletto!. I have been a client of Chris Galeo for more than ten years, and like another poster, have followed her from salon to salon and was thrilled when she finally opened her own place. Chris is knowledgeable and stays educated on newest trends and methods. The staff is friendly and helpful, and is always upfront about the option of different treatments they have to offer. Chris has my loyalty and my business!!!
LOVE MY HAIR NOW. Love, love, love my hair cut and stylist! I had the same basic haircut forever and change was difficult...but Chris Galeo showed me the light!! She is truly an artist when it comes to haircuts and styling......she took the time to give me a great cut that was perfect for me and she explained to me HOW to style my hair on my own so it would look just as good when I did it myself. The salon is clean, modern and inviting....the staff is awesome, genuinely nice and caring and always make the customer feel like they are number one. I would never go anywhere else again. Also I will say I did have to cancel an appointment, but I rebooked at the same time and it was no problem at all. THANK YOU STILETTO SALON!
Finally....long, straight, blond hair.
I finally have the hair I always wanted, thanks to Chris. I was referred by a friend almost 4 years ago and have been happy with my hair ever since. In addition to Chris being an extremely talented hair stylist, she is an incredibly accomplished business woman. In watching her work, I have continuously seen a genuine passion for what she does, which in turn is reflected in each and every one of her clients.
Sometimes when I walk by a mirror, I can’t even believe that this is really my hair.
Thank you Chris !!
I'll never go Stiletto Salon again.
I was forced to give at least one star by the system.
I was charged $17 for a tinted glaze the first time I went and $39 the next time.
The services were just ok, nothing special or above & beyond any other decent salon.
I had to cancel my appointment because I had to work late and was told I would be charged anyway. I was going to re-schedule, but was told they would put a hold on my credit card because I cancelled this appointment.
Great way to prevent repeat business.
$39 is the start price we charge color, the glaze of $17 is what we charge when we tone highlights or an additional service to a 1 process color to refresh with.$17 for a whole head color would not be realistic.Wehave a strict cancellation policy told when we confirm, posted on our website, facebook, and throughout the salon.
Great Stylist - Lousy Management.
loved the haircuts I got form Erin, she is great! BUT!
One morning I called to cancel an evening appointment and was told I would be charged for the appointment because I did not give a 24 hour notice. I explained that I had just made the appointment the night before so I had not even had the appointment for 24 hours and I was told "Sorry This Is Our Policy" If this is indeed your policy then you need to tell your clients this when they make an appointment. I know I wasn't told this!
So, I said "Sorry You Lost A Customer"
The one Star I gave is because of Erin
Hi Dorris! Glad you loved Erin. She is amazing! We do have a very strict cancellation policy which allows us to try and avoid last minute cancellations like this. Most successful salons have a cancellation policy or sometimes even take a credit card to even hold the appointment. Similar to holding a hotel room. Please understand that we reserve that time especially for you and our guests and we really want to take that time to spend with you so we can give you ultimate customer service, and without proper notice we are unable to accommodate other guests that want that appointment time. Of course we make exceptions for weather, family tradgedies etc. Our cancellation policy is told when we confirm appointments, on our website, and posted throughout our salon. We take what we do very seriously as our guests always come first.
