I don't usually write scathing reviews of mediocre places and prefer more positive reviews but I feel that I must say something about this place. I have no problems with the hairstylists that work here but I am completely befuddled as to why the young blond aesthetician that works there still has a job. I go to an aesthetician connected to a doctors office at least once every 4 months and I go to a spa for facials at least once a month. I get my eyebrows done at least every two weeks so I guess I do frequent similar establishments. I can say that this aesthetician is so completely unprofessional. I had a facial with her once which was a total waste of money. She says that she doesn't do extractions. I had an eyebrow waxing with her and omg the worst experience of my life. She was angry, couldn't wait to finish the job and did a poor job at the end. This girl has zero people skills and if she still has a job there is absolutely no way i will ever consider The Finishing Touch to do my spa services. NEVER. EVER.
finishing touch. The place is beautiful but over priced. there is a constant over turn of stylist there. Look on craigslist. If you leave there looking better or feeling better you got lucky. Tea,cacao, water and wine does not mean a great hairstyle. 140.00 for something my daughter could do is frightful.
Awesome, yet affordable. Finishing Touch is one of the best salons in the area, hands down. The quality of service mixed with the relaxing atmosphere is just something you don't come by these days. I have seen a few of the hair sytlists, as well as the nail tech and facialist, and across the board the employees are highly professional and skilled. I have had nothing but great experiences here, and the same goes for anyone I know that goes there. Such a friendly, welcoming, calming environment, for such a great price. Can't beat this place!
bad waxing burns. i recently went to finishing touch and the woman that did my eyebrows burned me three times. once on each eyelid. When i called to complain the girl called me back and tried to excuse the situation which to me i was just looking for an apology. I had to hang up the phone finally because she just kept arguing with me. I am very disappointed because i got the reference from someone who has had no trouble when she has gone in the past.
If you cant afford these prices, i feel sorry for you!. I live in brooklyn now and pay $40 for just a cut, that does not include a wash and style. so if you think 23 bucks for a wash cut and style is too much then you better get a new job or a second one. the salon is the cleanest and most elegant that is around besides stuck up Latham. maybe you should be going to Fantastic sams and pay $15 for a botch job beacuse its suits your taste if you think these prices are too high. For snotty Delmar, you think the prices would be more, but their foucus is on making people look great for a reasonable price, not to empty you wallet and send you home with a bad hair job.
The other side. This is in response to the comments below. These 2 comments made below are too close in date and written too similar to believe thay are actual clients' comments. The punctuations and sentence are the same. It is sad that someone has personal issues that they feel will be justified by these comments. I was formally the esthetician mentioned and actually care enough to defend myself even after finding this blog over a year later. I never burned a client with chemials and can say that because Finishing Touch did no chemical peels what so ever. The products used are very mild. As for the waxing comment... getting waxed hurts duh it's pulling hair from the skin. I will say though I have several advanced certificates and graduated with a 98 average from my esthetics class. I was also teaching the next class waxing techniques. If by chance these are actual clients that had a negative experience with the salon, I suggest next time instead of bashing a name, how about calling the place and speaking with the employee to actually correct the issue instead of taking time to type and complain to the endless sea of space on the internet.
burning facial. I had a facial done there the other day and it burned for three days after i looked like a tomato. the girl who did it kelly said it would go away after a few hours i think she was just hoping for me to go away. not an establishment i would ever consider going back to at least not until they get a new esthetician. Do your self a favor and pass this place by anything is beter if you keep looking.
OHH My god. what an experience can i tell you i've never had a waxing that painful if i never go back it will be too soon. and pricey is too nice a word i think they recruit people from the haniball lector school of waxing. not a good idea.
Great Work!!!!. Chris Sabatino owns the salon and I have been going to her since I was a little tot. I'm 23 now and I still go to there. She can be a little pricey, but her work is deffinatly worth it!!!! I highly reccamend Finishing Touch!!!!!!!
