No matter where I have lived, Albany, Troy, Watervliet, and Altamont, I always get my pizza from Jimmy's. Well worth the drive, it is that good!

My Family Tradition...

I was introduced to Jimmy?s Pizza at an early age. My mother lived just a block from Jimmy?s when she was pregnant with me, so my first taste of that distinctive sauce and just-perfectly greasy pepperoni was doubtless through amniotic fluid. Ever since then, the taste of Jimmy?s Pizza has meant home to me, even though my family now lives in Pittstown, and I have lived in New Paltz, Newburgh, and Troy; Jimmy?s always brings me back.

Back to Mom bringing home pizza as a surprise, and curling up on the couch to watch a VHS tape rented from a no-name video store. Back to visits home from college, and as my special coming-home meal, requesting a sausage-and-onion pie that nothing in my college town could replicate. Back to finally being old enough for Mom to hand me the money, and I would trek inside the little to-go area and wait for our dinner to be handed to me, and balancing it on the roof of the car as I opened the door. Back to resting the hot box on my lap the whole ride home, the delicious scent steaming up the windows.

Jimmy?s is special. Not just in their crust (always perfectly crispy-and-soft); not just the cheese (a great blend that?s always nicely cooked); not just the sauce (which has the flavor of actually being made in someone?s home, not just poured out of a can); but the sense of family I always get when I take that first bite. Although there are many (many, many) places to get your pizza in Troy and beyond, and I frequent a quite few of them, there will always be a special spot in my heart, and tummy, for Jimmy?s Pizza.

Jimmies serves more than just pizza. The have just about any Italian meal you want and some of the best subs around. Their sauce is just about the best around and the prices are very reasonable.
