Snobs need not apply
by Tonerguy at Citysearch
Snobs will never eat at Jack's. People who love sliders, and all that means, LOVE Jack's. My daughter went to Emma Willard, (uppercrust girls' preparatory), and introduced many, many of her upperclass friends to Jack's and they loved it so much it became their "must" destination during the summer.
Of course the burgers are greasy, of course the fries are loaded with cheese. THAT'S WHAT A SLIDER PIT IS! The food is delicious, the help is friendly, and anyone who says they aren't must be anti-social himself.
Try it. You'll LOVE it.
- Pros: Great place for summer eating outside
- Cons: None for what it is
All Time Classic
by PaulD at Citysearch
Jack's is an all time classic place to eat. You aren't going to find anything fancy here, it's just burgers, dogs, fries, shakes, onion rings, sodas, etc. The service is fast and it's the kind of greasy burger joint that brings back memories of yesterday. Also, when the weather is nice it's great to just sit out on the benches and take in the summer air. Yes, the burgers are standards sliders with grilled onions, ketchup, and cheese on them so if you expect some kind of gourmet burger then go to Red Robin or something. Me? I'll take a quick cruise on the Harley to Jack's anytime!
- Pros: Good cheap eats, nice location
- Cons: Not for the health conscious!
A real Troy area fixture

We love Jack's. My mother used to take me there on hot Summer nights. There were car hops then. Summer starts when Jack's opens. I love the burgers, chocolate milk and fries.
- Pros: Picnic tables, plenty of parking, cute cooks.
- Cons: Not open year round.
