Two presidents, one trader and one prisoner of war were guests in this stately Georgian mansion.. The Scene
This 1761 Georgian mansion was designed and owned by Philip Schuyler, a Revolutionary War general. Schuyler's daughter went on to marry Alexander Hamilton, a frequent guest. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Benedict Arnold were also guests on this once 80-acre estate. The mansion's grandeur continues to attract visitors, even though only three acres of the grounds remain.

The Best
Throughout the house, original items from the colonial and federal periods give visitors an idea of 18th century life with dark wood furniture, oriental rugs and lavish upholstery. The dining room is especially beautiful and features lovely examples of Chinese delftware and porcelain as well as English glassware.

The Rest
The bedroom where Schuyler's prisoner, General Burgoyne, stayed after the Battle of Saratoga is on display with the rest of the mansion's historical gems.
