Arrogant, not helpful

I went to Frank Adams to get a David Yurman bracelet for my daughter. I knew exactly which bracelet I wanted. It was on the David Yurman web site but I wanted to pay cash so armed with $600 I set out to the closest store carrying David Yurman. It was a miserable day, cold and pouring rain. I looked like a drowned sailer when I entered the store. A well dressed, affluent looking couple entered at the same time. Because of the storm there were no other customers. There were about 5 clerks. Immediately there were hugs and kisses all around for the couple who were, apparently, regulars. I went to the DY counter looking for the bracelet. I was ignored for about 10 minutes. One clerk waited on the couple. The others were chatting in the back. Finally someone wandered over. I told the person exactly what I wanted pointing to a framed picture of the DY bracelet on the wall. She could not help me telling me I had to wait for Kathy. She left. After another 5-10 minutes Kathy came over. She asked what I wanted. I described the bracelet and pointed to the picture telling her I'd seen it on the web page. She didn't know what I was talking about. She wanted me to give her a model number. I told her I didn't have it. She suggested I go out in the raging storm to get it from home. I said isn't there something I could look at here? She said she's go to find a catalog. I saw her stop to speak to the couple. Then she went in the rear of the store staying there to chat with the clerks. She apparently had no intention of finding a catalog or of returning. After another 10 minutes a young woman came to help me. She said the bracelet I wanted was one of Yurman's basic pieces and that she's order it. In a few days I did get the bracelet. When I got back to my office I wrote a letter to Frank Adams. After several weeks an envelope arrived from him with a print out of an e-mail he had tried to send me but it had not gone through because he had mistyped my e-mail address. He scrawled on the side that I had given him the wrong address. The e-mail was not apologetic and he said he would not be sharing my letter with his staff. I personally would never go there again. When I wanted to purchase another DY piece for my daughter I went to Saks in Boston. They were wonderful. I think Northeastern Jewelers also sells DY now. They are always gracious.
