The Scene – This bright, nautically-themed restaurant may seem like it should be part of a chain, but it's really an oasis in the midst of the chain restaurants that surround it. The Real Seafood Company is Albany's best and favorite seafood stop. – – The Food – The fresh catch and Maine lobster are market priced and available broiled, grilled, fried or poached. Cajun-style blackened fish is also available. For those on a budget try the breaded and fried Mess of Smelt or, for those who have trouble making a decision, the Blue Plate Special includes…

The evening was to be a special birthday dinner and it turned out to be one of the worst experiences in dinning I have ever had, totally disappointing! My husband’s lobster bake was absolutely atrocious. First the “bake” was supposed to include sausage but the waitress failed to advise that when ordering they were out and it was still early in the evening. It also came out minus the corn on the cob and when we mentioned that the waitress so oh yeah I will get them to steam one for you. Her attitude changed after that she acted annoyed with us the paying customer! About 5 minutes later someone else brought out two small "cold" pieces of corn. The bake included a small potato that was quartered in to 4 very small pieces, and 7 small steamed clams, all and all a big rip off for $25.00. My horseradish cheddar encrusted swordfish was no better the “stuffing” layered on top was an inch thick and underneath that was my small thin over done piece of swordfish. I would have complained like another patron had that evening but the owner gave her a gift certificate as compensation and I wouldn’t go there again even if he paid for it!
Across the street is Red Lobster if you want seafood, there's usually a wait yes, but well worth the wait, we should have gone there!

i walked into the restaurant about 9 pm and felt a little out of place ,alone in jeans , and t-shirt and my jacket. i saw people with shirts and ties and immediately thought the hostess was going to tell me about a dress code or something. i sat at the bar and the fellow greeted me with a smile and began to tell me about the specials. i ordered a salad and calamari fra diablo . it came with a bread that was so good i wanted to ask to take some home. i was stuffed . its a good thing i didnt order that soup and clams too as he recommended not for i was ordering alot to start. he was indeed right . and for less than $20 which i was hoping wouldnt be my last meal (before surgery the next day)

DURING A RECENT CONFERENCE IN ALBANY,IT WAS MY DISPLEASURE TO HAVE EATEN A MEAL AT THIS PLACE.IT LOOKS LIKE IT GOES OUT OF ITS WAY TO BE TERRIBLE,THE SERVICE WAS AS SLOW AS A CRIPPLED TURTLE,AND I COULDA WATCHED THE TEN COMMANDMENTS BETWEEN COURSES.THE PRICES ARE SKY HIGH AND NOW I GET TO THE BEST(OR SHOULD I SAY WORST)PART,THE FOOD.FOR AROUND $17 BUCKS I GOT WHAT THE MENU SAID WAS STUFFED SOUL.WHAT CAME WAS 2 TINY PIECES OF MUSHY FISH STUFFED WITH WHAT TASTED LIKE CARDBOARD.IT WAS ACCOMPANIED BY SOGGY VEGETABLES AND SOME KINDA RICE WHICH I THINK THEY POURED 2 GALLONS OF SALT INTO.WHEN I WALKED OUT I NOTICED A SIGN THAT SAID GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR SALE,AND I WONDERED HOW ANYONE COULD HATE AN ENEMY SO MUCH AS TO WANT TO GIVE THEM ONE OF THESE.IN SUMMARY,AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.
