Examine your bill carefully!. The Fountain is a cozy local place with reasonably priced, ok food. We have observered a lot of variation with the waitstaff. A few of the waitress's are friendly, attentive and accurate. There are also a few that are extremely slow and fail to remember simple requests like a glass of water.

On several occasions we have noticed that the billed

amount differ's from what the menu. For example, if you order a large pizza with Meatball's and Sausage, the menu clearly states $13.00 ("Any two toppings") However, the bill will mysteriously be $13.50. Recently a young, somewhat rude waitress informed us that "the manager" says thats what it is because the "meatballs are more". She then said "The manager" won't adjust it. A rather silly decision for $0.50 since we then deducted it from her tip and plan to no longer dine at The Fountain. We suggest you examine your bill carefully!

Wish there were zero's. Went to dinner this evening with my family. Understood this is a 'local' joint, but that doesn't mean the service has to be worse than McDonalds. Ordered two pitchers of beers which took at least 20 minutes to arrive at the table (apps came first), by which time our frosted glasses were warm. During this time questioned server about our drink order who replied 'I don't know what you're talking about, HON, I'm not your server". Super helpful. Things just went downhill from there, including having to ask for beer and napkins at the bar and ending with being charged for an extra pitcher, which they apparently could not reverse off the credit card, so provided a 'gift certificate' for the amount. Not to mention, my particular pizza was inedible (rubbery, tasteless, etc.).

Old neighborhood watering hole. Awesome pizza!. This place gets busy so get there during the off hours to enjoy it when it's peaceful & quiet. It's dark, it's a little dingy ... not fancy, but it's got great pizza and great staff!! Your typical hole in the wall joint that people pass by, but when you dare to go in, you won't be disappointed.

Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. I grew up in the Albany area but have lived in Southern California for the past 18 years. I haven't found a single place in California that has pizza as good as this. I visited the Albany area a few months ago and my sister and her husband took me here for dinner on the night I flew in and it was absolutely one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. We ate there once more during my brief visit and you can bet that the next time I'm in Albany I'm going to eat here.

You guys ruined all other pizza places for me...I don't suppose you'd ship me one? ;-)

Awesome pizza. The restaurant overall is very good. The food is fantastic, but you can't go to The Fountain if you are already very hungry. They have too many people that go there to eat and not nearly enough help. The wait to get a seat is generally long, as is the wait for the food. But the food is really very good, so if you don't mind the wait (as I obviously don't, cause I've been there many times) you should check it out.

Mgr Emerging Technolgies. One of the most comfortable family friendly places in this city. The food is generally pizza and pub fare, however daily specials round out the menu. Later in the evening it's a great place to meet friends for cocktails or catch a game. Staff is friendly and the neighborhood is safe. Plenty of parking is provided in the back.

The Best Pie in Upstate. As one who travels a fair amount from Buffalo to Albany- The Fountain has the best pizza around- I've tried for years to identify why it is so-it's a trifecta between the garlic in the cheese, super crust that is not doughy but more crispy, and the fact that they go light on the sauce- It's fantastic..I wish they had one in every city!!!!!!!!

Pizza-Treatza!. Great pizza. Nice crust (not too thick, not too thin), crunchy just right. Recommend regular pizza with sausage, pepperoni, roasted peppers, fresh mushrooms, ricotta, black olives... YMMMMM!

Like No Other!. It's not the crust. It's not the sauce. It's not the toppings. It's not the seasonings. It's not the oven. It's not the atmoshpere. There's just something about a Fountain Pizza that is special. One of my favorite things to do is to ask them to 3/4s cook a pie (or two!) and then bring it home 60 miles away and give it a few more minutes in the oven and enjoy it as if we were sitting right there on New Scotland Avenue, as we did so many times for the last 25 years! Fountain Pizza -- it's the best!
