Tile floors and low lighting add warmth to the small, narrow room. Start with tortilla chips and salsa from the help-yourself salsa bar. The burrito espinaca wraps fresh spinach, sliced mushrooms, artichoke hearts and shallots in a flour tortilla before heaping it with melted cheeses. Salads are served in edible tortilla bowls, as are sides of rice, beans and guacamole. Satiate your sweet tooth with the bananachanga: banana chunks rolled in a flour tortilla and deep-fried to a golden brown.

El Loco Cafe starting meal price around $9. For the last 20 years I have given them a chance from time to time. They are one of the most expensive Mexican restaurant's in the Capital Region and they STILL don't give their guests chips. So lets say you choose to pay for one basket of $1 chips, Salsa starts at $2.75 w/chips, they offer you a selection of 3 sauces (one called loco). El Loco STILL has those ridiculously tiny paper cups. So you can shove your chip into a dixi cup of sauce if you like!! .. My bean Quesadilla was around $10. One flower tortilla, black beans, cheese, some lettuce with rice on the side. The same dish in San Diego would have been $4.50. My friend ordered an ice tea, and when asked if he would like another, the waitress added, "b/c that's the only drink with free refills." I have always loved El Loco's atmosphere and friendly waitstaff, but I am officially done. Just b/c you have always done things a certain way doesn't make it good.

The menu claims that this food is authentic, however the menu doesn't live up to the expectation. It isn't even the authentic equivalent of a taco shop. Serivce was terrible, and the food was burned.

Forget Garcias !!! They don't even touch the fajitas here. They make their own salsa and I have never had anything like it anywhere because they make it with chipotle hot sauce. Their house dressing should be bottled and sold it's that good. The only thing I didn't care for is their black fried beans over rice they serve as a side dish. I always ask for them to replace it with extra lettuce so I can have more of their house salad dressing. They also carry vegetarian dishes too. For example chilli and a steamed vegetable burrito. Oh and let not forget they make the strongest margaritas. Nothing water down here.
