Downtown. Great food. You must try!!! I know good food, I own Jonathan's
Chef Yono makes magic by blending Indonesian and Continental cuisines..
The Scene
Yono's was originally located in a charming old house, but has since moved to Armory Center, where portions of the house have been reproduced on the second floor of an auto showroom. Take a seat within the restaurant, however, and the car wash seems to disappear.
The Food
Prize-winning chef Yono Purnomo combines Indonesian and Continental cuisine at his nameskae restaurant. Splurge on rijstaafel, a traditional feast, or try Pernod-marinated baby rack of lamb served with curry sauce. Yono turns ordinary chicken, beef, seafood and pasta into wonderful creations; the veal with prosciutto and pistachios is especially tasty. The seared salmon is spectacular when broiled and served with saffron-truffle sauce. Save room for dessert--Yono's wife Donna creates her own confections.
fine dining in albany. this place is such a find. its gourmet and well worth the money. there is also a continental menu in addition to the indonesian so youll definitely be able to find something you like. The location is safe but its in an odd place. the armory car center. just not the place youd expect to find such fine dining. Not cheap but definitely less expensive for food of this quality. I had salmon and swordfish and it was top drawer. fair enough portion. Live piano player.
best place in town. yono's is the best restaurant in town, bar none. he's got the awards, the loyal clientele, and the 'today show' apprearances to prove it.
Yono's is Quite Impressive. My first visit to Yono's was quite impressive. I had never dined there until the TU put out the out of Saratoga dining guide. I was a little apprehensive at first yet after sitting down in their beautifuly appointed dining room, my nerves calmed down. As I first opened the menu, my mouth began to water as I read over the Chef's creations. Out server read us the specials, one sounding better than the last. We were served red wines in these HUGE glasses that were so beautiful. As the waiters walked by with food for the rest of the dining room, our anticipation grew. When the food finally came, it was every bit as wonderful as we had dreamed of. This place is wonderful, great food, wines, and a wonderful staff to tie it all together. Mr Yono even came out to see how everything was.
