Historic Site of the first Shaker community. This is where Ann Lee first established the communal religious society known as the Shakers. Wonderful garden with Shaker herbs that are all marked with their name and use. Beautiful grounds for walking or a picnic. Hiking trails around Ann Lee Pond. Small exhibition about Shaker history in the amazing 1848 Shaker Meeting House. Eight other lovely historic buildings on-site unfortunately are not open to the public. Info about those buildings provided in a self guided walking tour brochure. Allow 90 min. to visit the Mtg House and walk the grounds, longer for for a hike and/or picnic and visit.…
