Best Charcoal-Grilled Chicken in the Area
by bbqfanatic
Great place to eat on a summer evening. Chargrilled chicken is the specialty and it's very tasty. Coleslaw is also fresh and good, fries and bbq beans just average. If you're a hot dog lover, be sure to try them here- they're grilled very dark and have a nice "snap" to them. Most people place their orders at a window then eat outside, however wait service is also available indoors and out (that's also the only way to order beer). 50s music by a live DJ adds to the festive atmosphere.
- Pros: Excellent chicken, Friendly Service, Festive atmoshere
- Cons: Long lines at window, Reasonable, not cheap
Decent for Yankee BBQ

Stopped here after reading several positive recommendations. PJs has very good chicken prepared with the ubiquitous 'Cornell recipe,' and superior sides of peppery coleslaw and piquant BBQ beans, but the ribs and BBQ brisket sandwhich leave much to be desired. The ribs have good spice rub, but are grilled instead of slow cooked. The flavor is good, but texture is tough. The brisket has an odd texture similar to Hormel dried beef, although the flavor is good. Outdoor seating might be fun, but several inconsiderate Yankees felt it necessary to leave their cars running while parked next to outdoor diners.
- Pros: Grilled chicken, Easy to find
- Cons: unconcerned counter
