what a treasure!. everything you could want from a restaurant. great food and a terrific atmosphere. Don't miss sitting outside on the patio. I didn't want to leave.
Great Meal!. Good food, good service, nice ambiance with nice live music. Unlike many other places, the music was not too loud. Had a light meal of some great gumbo. They offer 1/2 portions for many of their entrées which is a welcome option.
Good but overpriced for what you get......
Good service, ambience and wine. The food is average when compared to restuarants in the same price bracket in big cities like New York and Boston - therefore I think it is over-priced by about $5-10 for a main course.
With prices in the $30 range I was expecting expectional food rather than just average / good food. Also, many of their dishes are overpowered by strong sauces. Some subtle flavors would go a long way...
One of the best in the Albany/Saratoga area. And given the many new dining options in Saratoga that have opened over the last 10 years or so, this is really saying something. Quite simply, this restaurant is great, from the organic ingredients to the delicious and attractively presented finished products. The prices are higher than most Saratoga venues, but they're completely justified. The decor is very nice -- classy, yet a bit rustic at the same time. This place would still be notable if it was in Manhattan -- for Saratoga, it's on the top of the shelf.
A Saratoga treat!.
One of our favourite restaurants in the region. Everything is perfect, from great meals to ambience to service. We have NEVER been disapointed.
Another big plus, the food is mostly organic. A Saratoga treat!
Better than Boston. I have yet to find a restaurant here in Boston that compares to One Caroline. Finally a place that supports free range, organic farmers. The food is not only healthy and fresh but it's prepared by someone who must have a real passion for flavor and pride in presentation. My favorite dish is the Cioppino-a medley of salmon, mussles and clams in a garlicy red sauce, served with garlic toast. It pairs well with a glass of Bontara Chard. Sit me at one of those copper topped tables, somewhere near the baby grand piano, with my cioppino and glass of wine and I'm one satisfied individual. The service too, is fantastic and if you're lucky the owner/chef's daughter might grab the mic and enchant you with a song or two. Well worth a three hour drive!
One Caroline. What a lovely restaurant. The food has such depth-all organic and free range too! This is now my favorite restaurant. Wonderful food, great music and a warm and attentive staff. I can't wait to go back. Oh and it's very romantic.
