Best martini's ever!!. My fiancee and I went to 9 Maple to listen to a friend play jazz guitar on a Friday evening in January 2008. Not only was the music wonderful, but the drinks, service, and ambiance were all well above expectations. The bar is small and cozy, with a dark, jazzy feel to it. The bartenders are friendly, courteous, and definitely know how to make a good dirty vodka martini. I have never seen someone put so much care into making a martini as the bartended that was on the night that I went, and the taste was like none I have ever had. Not only were the bartenders great at mixing drinks, but there was a fella who stood at the door, opening and closing it as customers came and went. The place was also kept very clean; any used bar napkin that found its way to a table or ledge was quickly removed by the staff and the area was wiped clean. In addition to the great service and drinks, food was offered for free. The place was even accommodating of smokers, as outside of the building there was a little ally-way with places to sit and multiple ashtrays.

Given the great first experience my fiancee and I had, I can say for sure that we will return in the near future for great drinks, terrific service, and wonderful jazz.

Wow!. What a place... I, along with a very special man, stumbled across 9 Maple on one of our earlier dates. Fine live music, captivating. Sampled several martinis (there were LOTS to choose from) -- all delicious, smooth. Cozy place. Not too loud, you could enjoy your conversation. Friendly (and helpful) bartenders. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for, and the drinks, music and atmosphere are worth it (I hope my date agreed, he paid :) Sensual ambiance. Great place for warm conversation. Happy to have shared it with a great guy, but even if you go with a group of friends, you won't be disappointed. Worth the time. Worth the money. Worth sharing it with someone 'close'. I love 9 Maple!

Old Friends -- New Friends. Jazz...Martini's...Single Malts....Cigars...Good Friends...Warm, unpretentious atmosphere -- this is the place to be when you are hooking up with old friends (including Mike, the 'always smiling' owner and his b'tenders Dan, Wayne, Bob, et. al.) as well as a great place to meet new and interesting locals and visitors. Appealing to all ages and walks of life this place emits a classiness that is enhanced by the warm atmosphere and elegantly carved dark woodwork. Enjoy the great jazz and by all means ask to see the big book consisting of pages and pages of special martini's and single malts - you won't be disappointed!
