the worst – save your money. This salon is over priced. And if you are not happy with the results, they charge for a redo. Very bad experience. When I complained to the manager, I was asked not to return to the salon. Unbelievable.
Fantastic Spa! – I recently got a gift certificate to visit this new location in Albany NY... at first I was put off by the fact that it was located in a mall, but once I stepped inside, I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful location that you would never guess is located in Crossgates Mall!! I was offered tea or water (the tea is delish!!) and taken back to the spa waiting area, where the facialist met me and brought me into the facial room. There, we discussed my skin concerns and what I wanted to "work on". She tailored the facial to my individual needs, which was GREAT!! I left after this one hour service very relaxed and my skin felt brand new and very refreshed! The facialist also suggested a skin care process for me to do at home, and since I started using the products she suggested, I feel like all my skin problems are gone!! I will definitely be returning again and again!!
ordinary not GREAT ..... – this place is not out of the ordinary its just a simple salon like others but only overly priced! i went here a while back when the salon first opened in january and i remember paying around $200 for a highlight and cut thats a bit outradgous for a mall salon, also my eyebrow wax was $20! they said 20 for the first time because they needed to be reshaped but they didnt they only needed to be cleaned up! when i was trying to browse for product before my service i felt attacked by every one who was standing up front i couldnt look for product in peace without 3 or more people asking if they could help me... a bit annoying . my actual service was alright cant complain but i also cant rant and rave about how awsome it was like i said it was just ordinary nothing special ... i saw some of the other guests receiving hand massages but i didnt get one .... have to say i did expect more for the aveda name hope this review helps ...
Loved It!!!!!! – I recently went into the Crossgates location and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. I did not have an appointment but was able to be taken. The young lady who scheduled me was polite and accommodating. The young lady who did my foils was very professional and knowledgeable, and a pleasure to visit with. I even got a free "mini-facial" as they called it there while I waited for my foil's to finish. No one can argue with my result. My hair has never looked better!! I would tell anyone to come here for a hair or spa service, because I cant wait to go back myself!!
too expensive for the quality service! – i recently saw that classical concepts had added a new location in albany .. and i have been going to the one in saratoga for some time now i usually see barbara i was not impressed with the albany location i felt that the receptionist was very rude and not accomidating i feel like the younger girl i was put with for a hair cut was very inexperienced and not very friendly either. chloe i think her name was. i was trying to explain what i wanted and she just kind of confused me and tricked me into getting it cut a way i didnt want to and her hand was shaking the whole time she was cutting which made me nervous. she did not talk at all during my service and when she finished drying she didnt even walk me out or ask if i needed any products the service was definately not as great as it should be for the price i paid my hair cut was also not very good it was uneven on one side it felt like there were more layers on one side than the other i nicely asked her to check to make sure it was even because i felt like it wasnt and she gave me attitude so i just paid and left .. i would not go back to the albany location and i will not be recomending it to others i know . i did not experience a feeling of wellness and relaxation as you should in such a high end salon and spa
worst place ever! – i went to the one in crossgates mal land the front desk was very unfriendly and the woman looked like she just rolled out of bed i was put wiht annalisa for a hair cut and she was so rude she didnt listen to what i wanted and did what she wanted instead ... i felt rushed and my hair wasnt even dried alll the way!! and the scalp massage sucked she barely even rubbed my head and she burnt me with the water temp while shampooing and i was soaked on the back of my shirt! ..when i preceeded to check out i told them i was unhappy and i would like to get it recut ..and they told me they wouldnt do it unless i paid another 40 dollars! i got alot of attitude from both my stylist and the lady at the front desk i will never return and i am going to tell all i know not to go there! seriouolsy if you want a good hair cut dont go here! the people are very rude !
Great experience – I have been getting my hair cut and highlighted for over 2 years at this salon. I have never been dissatisfied and have always received good service. My stylist is Barbara and she's been extremely professional!
I would not go back!! – I went in to this salon because it looked beautiful and is located in an upscale area of Saratoga. It is pricey, and for the price you pay, you would expect the best services. The girl who did my hair was not very friendly and seemed unsure of her work. When I left, I thought my hair was longer on one side than the other but she assured me it wasn't. When I got home, not only did I notice that it WAS longer on one side, but one of my co-workers noticed it as well.
Needless to say, I had to get it fixed but you bet I did not get it fixed there!!
Worst experience – I went into the salon, thinking I would get a quality haircut based on how expensive everything was. I asked for a trim, and the girl cut more then 3 inches off, and then preceded to ask me if it was too short, like there was something she could do about it! I'm no hairdresser but I have had trims before, and I know its not 3 inches. It was extremely awkward while she was cutting my hair, she did not say one word to me the entire time!
She burnt my head with the blowdryer while she was styling it. She put several products in my hair, without telling me what any of them were, and then asked me when I was finished If I would like to buy any of the products she put in my hair. maybe I would have if I would have known what they were!!
I would not recommend this place to anyone and I would never go back again!
Had the worst facial ever! – I had a facial the other day. It started off very relaxing, but ended bad. The girl acutally cut my face during extractions and didn't even say anything to me. I noticed my skin immediately and it looked horrible. Once I talked to the front desk about it, they had the nerve to give me a hard time. Horrible customer service.
