I love Helios. Everyone who works there is so great. It's clean, bright, has top of line everything. The staff is actually knowledgeable...which is extremely rare. I can have a bad day at work and know that I can go there and unwind. I look so forward to my visits because of the whole experience, not just the tanning. I've been tanning for probably 10 years in different cities across the U.S. and can honestly say this salon is the best I've ever been to. I've been going here for over a year about once a week and have never once had anything but a great experience. +++The 30-minute high pressure beds make me sooooo dark without burning and I'm able to take a nap and relax. I can't say enough good things about them. I recommend it to everyone I know and I tell everyone that I LOVE my tanning salon.

I loooove going to Helios Tan!! The location is convenient, the facilities are clean, the employees are friendly and they have so many machines that I never have to wait! They always have new, powerful bulbs, so my tanning sessions are quick and then I'm back on the move! Oh, and there's always a piece of candy waiting for me.... how can I not love that?!

My first experience at Helios was with their massage. I have had many, many massages so I was curious to see what I could get from a tanning salon. The messages were very good....even better than those from more expensive spas. They offer different types of massages and you can even bring music that you like to listen to. There's nothing like the feeling of complete peace you get from a good massage. After a few weeks, I decided to give tanning a try. I was very skeptical and the staff never tried to pressure me into it. I don't like the really dark look that some people get so I was hesitant to get started. I began slowly and spoke with the knowledgeable staff to figure out what would be the best for me. They have many plans depending on what you're looking for and made me feel comfortable about being there. Now I have a nice, basic tan. I don't look too dark and I'm certainly not orange....just healthier looking. That's exactly what I was going for. Now I love my trips to Helios. Every time I come in, I'm greeted with a smile. The machines and the rooms are always clean. I never have to wait. They really have their act together. Whether you're looking for a new, better place to tan or you were starting out like I was, I think Helios is a great place to go.

Helios Tan is by far the best tanning salon I have ever gone to. Hands down. You don't just go there and get a tan, you get an education. For those who have posted remarks on here about prices- I believe you are getting a bargain when you walk into Helios. Not only are you getting the most natural looking tan that actually lasts, you are also doing it the safest way. The girls in there are Smart Tan certified which is the only nationally recognized tanning certification in the U.S. if I'm not mistaken. The products sold there might be more expensive than other places but they are also much better quality. Now how can you put a price on your health and your body? It just doesn't make sense to. If you are going to tan, you have to do it the right way. And that right way is Helios!!! Now, not only are you getting more for your money, but they have introduced massage therapy into the mix for your over-all well being. You can't find many places that can cleanse your aura in one stop. And the staff is just terrific! They are always energetic and pleasant and treat you like their friends and family when you walk through that door. If you are having a bad day, they are always genuinely willing to listen, because sometimes that's exactly what we need. Helios Tan truly is an excellent place to go. And check out their myspace page for the latest news, updates, coupons, and specials!!! Can't find that in many places.

I have been going to Helios since i moved to Albany back in fall 2005 ,and i keep going back, i don't think price is a factor at all you are getting what you pay for, you walk out of there with a tan and relaxed, i think the girls who work and run Helios are very well educated in there product and i feel they will go into lengthy details about each, from lotion to beds to now there amazing massage room. the rooms are very nice and don't make you feel claustrophobic i have been in other tanning salons before and never gone back because of how small the rooms are. every time i go into Helios i am greeted w/a friendly smile and hows it going and further more they don't forget your name or face which i feel make me want to go back,

I have been tanning at Helios Tan for about 2 years and have yet to find a place that compares to it. I have tanned at numerous salons before, and none have matched the service that is offered at Helios. The service is excellent with friendly, helpful, dedicated employees. The owner, Jillian goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are happy, satisfied, and walk away with a beautiful tan. That is just what I achieve at Helios Tan. The equipment is in wonderful condition--I've never gotten that "fake orange look". Jillian went the extra mile by offering massages to her clients. The prices are comparable to any well-known spa, and a great way to relax at a tanning salon. Some may think that the lotions offered are on the more expensive side, but you truly "get what you pay for!".......I recommend this place to everyone I know! Helios Tan is the place to be!

I have been a member of Helios Tan for quite a while now and have always experienced nothing, but positive. The staff is knowledgable and the eqipment is in tip top shape. Jillian Cipolla (owner) is wonderful she is extremely professional and knows a great deal about tanning. The facility is well maintained and always very clean. I have nothing but good things to say about Helios. I would rather pay a bit more money and know that I am getting my moneys worth. So, thank you Helios for being the best tanning facillity in the area.

Pros: Great customer service, cleanliness and equipment is up do date

Cons: Sometimes theres a long wait, but thats anywhere. When your good thats what happens

I have been a client of Helios Tan formerly Celsius Tan for the past 2 1/2 years. I would say when it was Celsius it was just a run of the mill tanning salon. When Jillian (new manager) took over and made it Helios Tan everything was definitely raised to another level. The beds are always top notch, as is her staff. I always walk out with an amazing tan and a great experience. They offer massages now too. I know that I am someone who doesn't have the time for the 30 or 60 minute massage they offer, but the 10 minute lotion application massage is perfect! I can get a quick relaxation and then finish off with my tan. Aside from great tanning, they have great service! One night right around 8:00 when they were closing, my cell phone went out of service at the salon. I was in a huge bind, I needed my phone, I was no where near home and I needed a land line to get my phone working again. The Helio's girls offered me up the business phone so I could get mine working again. Meanwhile, they stayed an extra 20 mins past close just to help me out and make sure I could get my cell working again. It was a Friday night and I'm sure they had plans, but they really wanted to make sure their clients were taken care of. I really appreciated what they did for me that night. They have some great people in that salon!

First of all the name of the salon is HELIOS TAN and not celsius tan. The name changed happend awhile ago and the website WILL NOT update it! Second, MANY things have changed recently that makes this THEE place to tan. Freindly, Knowledgeable staff, great service and amazing beds. The beds are maintained, up to date blubs and clean! Third, We offer Massage thearpy. 10 minute lotion applications, 30 minute massage and 1 hour massages. There are monthly specials, regular discounts and referal Incentives that make this not only the best place to tan, but cost effective with out sacrificing quality! So weather it be Spray tan, Regular tanning or our special HIGH PRESSURE tanning, Helios tan is THEE place to tan!!

Pros: Open 7 days a week: 90 hours a week.

Cons: There aren't more of them!

Very poorly run operation. Bulbs are blown in the machines...rooms are stifling hot. Way too expensive for what you get..for example some small bottles of lotion cost $75.00 plus they more or less force you to buy thier lotion because they will not allow you to bring in your own. Many other places in Albany area are less expensive and much better run. Do yourself a favor...stay away from Helios.
