A GREAT Place to Work!!
by PaulW1973
It's hard to imagine...but I used to work at Jumpin' Jack's THIRTY-FOUR YEARS AGO! I haven't lived in the area for a long time, but every time I'm back I definitely go there for at least one meal. The summer crew I worked with back then used to not oly provide good food but we'd do our best to ENTERTAIN the customers too. It was a fun place to work. (I was making $2.10/hr back then! I loved overtime. That meant I was making $3.15/hr!!)
- Pros: Great freshly prepared food
- Cons: Sometimes too hot to eat there during July and August. (May & June is peak season!)
AWESOME!

I will admit PROUDLY that I am a "life member" of eating at Jumpin' Jack's Drive-In for over 40 years!
I have been to EVERY opening day on the sometimes (and often) cold, snowy and always windy days before 11:00am in March since 1968... except for ONE, while I was making a "Med Cruise" with the Navy in 1978. * Serving my country was the ONLY way I missed that one!!!
My friends and I started back in 1968 from Central Park Junior High, as it was called ... then later from Linton High as it was called then..and then even from Bishop Gibbons, as it was JUST called then
( but we would date somone from Norte Dame, as it was called then..right Pam?? And you know who you are ;o) But no matter what school or even later in life with the jobs that have been held, we always went to hang out at "JJ's (as we call it to this day) and the fun never ends!
I can't think of a greater place to go to just mingle, talk (while in line) with friends and make new friends too... and get great food! The ambiance of the river and the park is worth the trip!
And now that they have since added the concerts at Freedom Park, it's even better
(although I still argue anyone EATING at Jumpin' Jack's SHOULD be the ONLY one's allowed to be parking there- right Scotia P.D.?? GRRR ) but that's also part of the mystique of going there too!
But it is well worth the wait for the parking spot ...and the food! ;o)
Now if they only sold those infamous JJ's Tee-Shirts & Hats with the year printed on them that employees wear for the PUBLIC to buy & wear!!! ???
...They would be collectibles for sure....& FREE advertisement too!! Do you hear me JJ"s???? HINT! Maybe sell them with portions of the proceeds going to a local charity, hmmm?
But just get out to Scotia soon and try Jumpin' Jack's for the food & ice cream and become one of THOUSANDS who enjoy it as much as I do! Well almost,...because I am the Number ONE Fan! ;o)
~ JIm :o) D' VUT BEEP LIVES ON!
- Pros: EVERYTHING FOOD WISE IS GREAT!
- Cons: ATTENTION SCOTIA P.D. ~ THE PARKING SHOULD BE FOR EATING CUSTOMERS ONLY & NOT FOR THE PARK GO-ERS WHO TAKE UP ALL THE SPOTS!! GRRRR
Good ol' fashioned Burgers and fries, onion rings and excellent service...

Come and be a part of American History. Great time to be had at Jumping Jacks. You will not regret your visit. Might end up standing in line for a while but that is part of the mystique. Some really down to earth, good tasting burgers, fries, onion rings, clam or fish dinners, ice cream, cold soda and happy employees. I have been coming to Jumping Jacks since the mid 60s when we would tool the streets looking to drag race. Nothing much has changed.. The pavilions, and of course, - The paved parking lot.
You don't know what your missing if you have never been here.

Burger joint near recreational playground overlooks the Mohawk River and serves up clam fries, coleslaw and onion rings.
My favourite place
by mmossey13
Jumpin' Jack's was the hangout for my friends and I from the time we were eight years old to still now. It's right by the river, and there are water shows and live music at the stage right next door. There's also a park right across the street with litle league games every weekend. It's a great place to go for a nice, fun time.
The food is great, the atmosphere is perfect. The best place to spend an afternoon that I can think of.
- Pros: Good food, Good atmosphere.
- Cons: Crowds sometimes.
Really Great

You can't go wrong - a great experience. The best place for a greasy hamburger or some clam fries. The soft serve ice cream is really wonderful. You've got to try it!
- Pros: Atmosphere, Inexpensive, Live music next door
- Cons: A lot of teens, Crazy parking
Jack Burger
by fierymuppet
Everyone knows that coleslaw goes good with a burger, but did you ever think it'd be good ON a burger? Jumpin' Jacks did when they created the Jack Burger... two hamburgers with three pieces of bun and coleslaw in the middle. Add cheese and you won't be sorry! (The coleslaw's the best around, too!)
For a burger, there is none better

- Cons: Can be crowded

by panther41km
I have totally enjoyed Jack's since I was just little. My two children and I wait for the Spring opening to go and enjoy. They sure know there foods and entertainment there. I've eaten all over the world and I will have to say Jack's is my favorite. Thanks Jack.
- Pros: reasonably priced, great outdoor eating, great ski shows
- Cons: hard to eat in rain, need bigger trays, tables to be cleaned
